Kingdom of Belgium

Peru and Belgium maintain a close and strong bilateral relation. The political and diplomatic ties develop within a framework of important cordiality and mutual respect based on solid grounds, as a result of a vocation that shares the same aspirations, values and principles that give meaning to our societies : the value of democracy, the respect of the Rule of Law, human rights, freedom of speech, legal security, free initiative with regards to economy and the importance we attach to sustainable and inclusive development.

In the economic field, Belgium is the sixth commercial partner of the country, within the European Union, with a positive trade balance for our country. It is also the sixth European investor in the energy and transport sectors, among others. Belgium is a country whose economic activity is essentially linked to foreign trade. For that reason, trade relations turn out to be of vital importance for Peru.
